July Ipsy Review

  • Pink transparent bag: This is a new shape from Ipsy! It's usually a flat bag. This is more of a tube or barrel shape. Not sure what I'm going to do with this one but its really cute. Maybe I can fit some pens in it. Or my sunglasses, to keep them from getting scratched.
  • Straight Up Nail Lacquer by Nailtini, full size: This color is Mai Tai, a bright summery orange that applies very opaquely. It is one of four "or" items this month. I hope they don't do this many in the future because I wanted 2 of the 3 other items, the derm e microdermabrasion scrub and Benetint from Benefit. However I can't be too mad since I love nail polish and my Ipsy quiz even says so. But this product retails for a lot less and this is the third Nailtini polish I've gotten in my bags.
  • California Collection Eyeshadow Sample by Bh Cosmetics: I love mini palettes. This one had one color each from the Hollywood, Malibu, and San Francisco palettes, but they don't have individual names listed. The brown and gold are more shimmery than the purple.
  • Pouty Pop Crayon by Pop Beauty, full size (I think): I got Coral Crush which I thought would look terrible on me it but I actually really like it! I guess Ipsy knows me better than I do. Applies smoothly and twists up for more product. Probably my favorite July item!
  • Mineral Unscented SPF 20 Moisturizer by Coola: I confess that I don't really wear sunscreen except for when I'm out in the sun all day. At least this will sneak it in. Well played. It was pretty lightweight and didn't feel greasy.
  • Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning and Texturizing Spray by Sexy Hair: More lazy hair products, yay! Smells good, Also good, the bottle's nozzle locks in an off position. I'm not sure if it makes my hair any wavier though.
I meant to review this sooner but it took me a little while to try everything. And to find the photo I took when it arrived. Oops.

I think this is my ninth Ipsy bag now. I initially did Ipsy and Birchbox with the intention of keeping whichever I liked best since they're the same price. As much as I liked Birchbox's points system, Ipsy was the clear winner in terms of content. Maybe I'll do a comparison post sometime.
